STAT 301 - Business Statistics If you were not able to attend class today, then the first part of your lecture review is to complete the activity that was done in class today. Include your solutions to these problems with your lecture review submission. If you were in class today and completed the activity, then I've already given you credit for this and you can go directly to the writing assignment below. Writing assignment: This lecture review is the first of a series of writing assignments to review course content. The assignment is due at the beginning of class on Monday, January 26. It should be typed or neatly handwritten. You are asked to produce a short review set of notes on the "probability" unit of the course. Specifically: Since some exams (er, "knowledge festivals") in this course are open-note, you should aim to produce something that would be useful for reference. Your writing should include information on the material we’ve covered (e.g., the "and/or/at-least-one" rules, contingency tables), give key definitions (e.g., "independent" and "dependent" events), and provide some illustrative examples. A typical submission will be one or (more likely) two pages long. But the goal is not length (or succinctness). Rather, the goal is for you to reflect upon, and summarize, in a manner that is helpful to you. |
